Cougars beat Lafayette, girls come up short

The North Panola Cougars geared up for their district opener tonight with a 75-55 win over Lafayette County Tuesday in Sardis.
T.J. Davis led three Cougars in double figure scoring with 19 points. Cedquavious Hunter followed with 18 while Ankerion Gross supplied 10.
Javon Williams garnered eight points while Eric Williams provided seven.
Canijah Jones and Deundre Smith finished with two points. North Panola evened its record at 5-5 on the season.
Lafayette Co. earned the split as the Lady Commodores eased past North Panola 64-31 in the opener.
Mia Taylor paced the Lady Cougars with nine points while Sherry Connor added seven. Eriunna Goings registered five followed by Constance Burnette with four points.
D’Aurian Linzy and D’Mya Williams finished with two points each. Kimmaya Dixon led the Lady ‘Dores with 18 points.
North Panola host Independence tonight at 6 p.m
