Panola County Justice Court was held in Sardis Tuesday morning with Judge Mike Wilson presiding over the proceedings.

Derek Roberson pleased not guilty to violation of the tint law, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was given an Aug. 20 trial date.

Raven Dye pleaded not guilty to speeding and no insurance. Her trial date is Aug. 20.

Cedric Gathrwright pleaded not guilty to DUI and has an Aug. 20 trial date.

Alexander Ray pleaded not guilty to a possession charge and has an Aug. 20 trial date.

Derrick Gentry also has an Aug. 20 trial date after he pleaded not guilty to DUI.

Dairious Johnson has a Sept. 17 trial date to answer to charges of speeding after his not guilty plea.

Making their initial appearances after being jailed were Carlton Johnson, Patricia Russell, Lucas gelatin and Michael Robertson.

Johnson was jailed on a possession of firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. He has a $20,000 bond and has a hold from Arkansas. The court appointed him an attorney.

Russell was charged with breaking and entering and burglary of an unoccupied residence. She has a $2,500 bond and was appointed an attorney by the court.

Gleaton was charged with public drunkenness and Roberson with disorderly conduct – failure to comply. The court did not have any papers on them at the time and their cases were dismissed and they were released from jail.

Judge Wilson told them police may still bring those charges back on them.

Christie Burke has a review to appear back Sept. 17. Denise King has a review to appear back December 17. Alexis Oliver was given a new date. James Davis did not appear.

The protection order of Latasha Knox against Lee Williams was dismissed at her request.

Those who did not appear include Deatrice Armstrong for no insurance; Zsa Davis for speeding; Lavashney Hunt for no driver’s license, Jerneever Chapman, no insurance, Amanda St. John, disturbance of a family, and Devante Pitchford for DUI who also had a bench warrant issued for his arrest.

Harold Tims disorderly conduct charge was dismissed without prejudice. The paperwork included ambiguous language that Judge Wilson did not understand as it is written. Wilson told Tims it was likely they would resubmit the charges against him.

Facing traffic charges in a Sept. 17 court date are Tommy Bonds, Jasmine Crump, Jonasha Quinn and Roy Daniels.

Barrett Strickland has an Aug. 20 date for simple domestic violence.

Shunessy Bishop’s charge was recused.

Roydarshious Gathwright has a Jan. 20, 2020 court date.
