City Church tangles with B’vlle PD

First place was on the line in the 7&8 year-old baseball division Friday as City Church and Batesville Police Dept. tangled Friday at J.P. Hudson Park Friday.
Thanks in part to Bobo Elliot’s three doubles and three runs scored, City Church took over first place with a 20-6 victory in five innings.
City Church (9-2) plated seven runs in the first and six more in the third to take a commanding 13-1 lead. Miles Roberts collected a triple, double and two singles at the plate.
Jacob Moore added a pair of doubles and scored three runs while Carter Lightsey provided two singles and two runs scored. Brayden Jackson supplied a two-run double in the first and later added a single.
Other hitters included, Dontrell Hall, (double, three runs scored) Chase Webb, Ethan Berryhill and Paxton Phillips all contributed with singles.
Aiden Byers singled and scored two runs for the Batesville Police Dept. (8-3). Preston Earnest chipped in with two singles while Hayden Hodges drove in a run with a triple. Easton Hardy, Braylon Smith, Riley Fortner and Joesph Skelton added singles.

Ayden Stevenson slugged two home runs and a double powered Whitten Insurance to the victory.
Stevenson’s three-run bomb to straight away center field in the third inning broke a 10-10 deadlock. Gabe Hardenburgh, Easton Callihan and Hays Cochran each provided a double and single.
Max Donahue and Cade Cole delivered singles for Whitten Insurance who improved to 3-7 on the year.Jordan Jones doubled and plated two runs.
Bowen Martin paced Hefner Motors (4-7) with a home run, single and three runs scored. Deacon Snider added two singles while Jack Heafner, Clay Russo, Braylen French, Elijah Deaton all singled.
Khiron Little drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and later contributed with a single.
