Members of Batesville Woman’s Club joined other club women from the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) and the Mississippi Federation of Women’s Clubs (MFWC) to participate in the 121^st annual MFWC State Convention held April 25-27 in Starkville.

There are fifty-one federated clubs in Mississippi with 1,029 members.

State-level awards presented to Batesville Woman’s Club included third place in Fundraising & Development, fourth place in Legislative and Public Policy, Club History Award, Honor Club, and the Creativity Award in Fundraising.

In the state-level MFWC Youth Art Contest, Batesville Woman’s Club contestants won three first place  awards, one second place award, and one third place award.  Hebron Memorial Scholarship State Chairman Jacquelyn Sergi presented the scholarship to Robyn Hadden, sponsored by the Raleigh Woman’s Club.

MS Public Broadcasting  StateCo-Chairman June Griffin coordinated the presentation of the door prizes.

Speakers for the convention included Mississippi author Laurie Parker, Leilani Salter, and GFWC International President Mary Ellen Brock.
