Cougars lose District games

Both North Panola High School girls and boys basketball teams lost tough district games at Holly Springs Friday.

The Lady Cougars fell to 0-2 in division play and 2-6 overall with 37-35 setback to the host team.

The No. 3 ranked Cougar boys team fell hard to Holly Springs 63-45 despite 17 points from Mario Fenner, Jr.

With the loss, North Panola saw its record dip to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in district play.

Cedquavious Hunter followed Fenner in scoring with 10 points. Ankerion Gross and Javon Williams each provided six while Herbert Thomas supplied three points. Demartius Wright and Eric Williams had two and one point each.

North Panola returns to the hardwood Dec. 28-29 as part of the Domino’s Holiday Challenge at South Panola High School.
