Staff Report

Batesville police said there were no reported incidents during Tuesday’s Christmas Parade and that crowds lining the streets near the Downtown Square seemed larger than those of recent years.

Organizers said more than 100 entries joined the parade, with many last-minute additions. Mark Shields, who took registrations for the parade, said about 60 applications were submitted early but the number grew quickly on Monday and Tuesday as the parade approached.
