Staff Report
Batesville Asst. Police Chief Kerry Pittman said the department had no reported Halloween or trick-or-treating incidents that called for officer involvement.
Heavy rains from late afternoon and into the night put a damper on activities. “We had no problems at all,” Pittman said. “We appreciate all the citizens of the city working well with the police department, and especially driving safely when we knew pedestrians would be out.”
Pittman said officers were called to the Panola Medical Center when a man was treated there for a gunshot wound to the arm, but that the incident was in no way related to Halloween activities.
There were no details of the shooting at press time.
