Ronald Aaron Belk
Ronald Aaron Belk, 65, of Walls, went to be with the Lord on Sunday – September 2, 2018 at North Delta Hospice House due to pancreatic cancer.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday – September 10, 2018 at 6 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. both at Minor Memorial United Methodist Church – 6120 Goodman Road – Walls where he was a member.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Belk and is survived by his sons; Chance Aaron Belk and his wife Misty of Independence, Mississippi and Dustin Richard Belk and his wife Emily of Coldwater, Mississippi; five grandchildren; Emma, Landon, David Ryan, Sophie, and Henry; four sisters; Mildred Stanley and her husband Hugh, Glenda Pentecost and her husband Willie, Bettye Steward and her husband Jimmy and Mary Alice Finnie; three brothers; Raymond Belk, Wayne Belk and his wife Suzann and James Belk and his wife Laurieanne. He also leaves his sister-in-law Paula Jean Walton and her husband Steve and numerous nieces and nephews.
Aaron retired from the Teamsters Local Union 667 after many years of service including being elected Vice-President of the Teamsters Union in Washington, D.C. for eight years.
He had a️ love for his family, art, writing, and gardening. He was always willing to help those in need with his selfless acts of kindness. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Susan Pattridge Berryhill
DUNLIN, MS- Susan Pattridge Berryhill, 69, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday August 29, 2018.
She was born in Denver, August 27, 1949. She received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Mississippi and two graduate degrees from Delta State University.
Memorial services was held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Clarksdale, with Rev. Neville Vanderburg officiating.
Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home of Clarksdale is in charge of arrangements.
Anita Haney Denman
SARDIS – Anita Haney Denman, 86, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Methodist University Hospital – Germantown. Ms. Denman was the widow of Jerry L. Denman of Sardis,.
Anita was born January 12, 1932 to the late Vannie Smith Haney and Harold David Haney in Memphis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Collierville. Earlier in her lifetime she received a degree in Biological Science from the University of Tennessee.
Wells Funeral Home of Batesville has charge.
Beverly Jane Perkins
Beverly Jane Perkins, 67 of Crystal Springs (formerly of Courtland) died September 1, 2018 in Booneville.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 5, at Wells Funeral Home . The interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. Rev. Johnny Stewart officiated the services.
She was born in Millington, Tenn. May 19, 1951 to the late Allen and Dorothy Wright. She graduated from top of her class at Purdue University with a BSN in nursing. She then relocated to Batesville, at Batesville Hospital. She continued her education and obtained her Master’s degree in nursing and pursued started teaching the LPN program at NWCC and later became a Health Occupations instructor for Batesville Job Corps.
She relocated to Crystal Springs Job Corps until she fell ill in 2012 and she had to retire. Beverly was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Crystal Springs.
Edward W. Roberson
Edward W. Roberson, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on April 5, 1933 in Batesville to the late Eldon and Berthine Varner Roberson. He retired after 40 years from Texas Gas as a supervisor of computer maintenance. Edward was an U.S. Army veteran and a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his church and his children. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Kathlyn Rutherford and his brothers, E.H. Roberson and Varner Roberson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Louise Roberson; a son, Charles Roberson (Janet); daughter, Veda Wylie (Marty); three grandchildren, Heather Wylie, Christopher Matthews and Brice Matthews; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Matthews, MaKaylee Matthews, Alivia Matthews, Avery Matthews and Emerson Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Lewis Lane Baptist Church, Owensboro, with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.
