Sheriff’s Report: family disputes keep deputies busy

On March 29, Lieutenant Chuck Tucker spoke to a Terza Road resident who reported her brother got mad after he was told he could not sleep with his brother’s wife in his mother’s house.
According to the report, the suspect took a bottle of floor cleaner and poured it in the resident’s gas tank and then kicked the doors on another vehicle, damaging both doors.
Lieutenant Tucker spoke to a Eureka Rd. resident who reported cashing a $100 bill at a store as he was getting gas.
According to the report, the resident stated he realized one of the twenties he got in change from the store was fake. Investigator Bryan Arnold will continue the investigation.
March 23
• Freeman Rd., Como resident reported to Deputy Jeremy Hailey she left for spring break and upon returning home she noticed some items missing from her shop. The resident will compile a list of items taken.
• Deputy Hunter Lawrence spoke to a Dishman Rd., Como resident who reported he ordered a wiring harness for his car and paid $600 for it, but believes someone stole it from his property.
March 24
• Crouch Rd. resident reported to Deputy Darryl House an unknown subject kicked the front door into the residence and entered.
According to the report, some items were taken from the property and the resident stated he had a old record, table saw, gas heater and air conditioner stolen a while back. The investigation is ongoing.
• Lieutenant Tucker responded to Waldrup Rd. for reports of a fire out of control causing property damage.
According to the report, the resident reported his neighbor was burning a ditch between his property and the neighbor’s field and stated the fire got into his yard and caught his landlord’s truck on fire.
The resident reported this is the third time they have set a fire and caused damage to the property.
• Riverview Rd., Sardis resident reported to Lieutenant Tucker her boyfriend called and stated his ex-wife, who has been told not to come onto the property, pulled into their driveway and sat there.
According to the report, the suspect reported she was in the driveway because her lawyer told her to get the address.
• Cove Road, Pope resident reported to Deputy Hunter Lawrence she received a call from her step-daughter’s mother, but was unable to answer the phone. According to the report, the suspect began to send ugly text messages. The suspect called and used foul language not realizing her daughter was the one to answer the phone, according to the report.
March 25
• Shiloh Rd., Courland resident reported his nephew and mother got into an altercation.
According to the report, the nephew hit the resident in the face and the resident responded by hitting his nephew back and throwing him to the ground.
March 26
• Mallard Point Rd. resident reported to Deputy John Still she and her husband are in the process of getting a divorce and advised her husband threatened to kill her.
The resident was advised to seek other living arrangements until custody of the property could be determined.
• Lieutenant Tucker was dispatched to Hwy. 35 North in reference to threats being made.
The resident stated his ex-girlfriend showed up at his grandmother’s house in Courtland and started hollering at him and threatening him.
According to the report, the suspect threatened to beat up the resident’s girlfriend.
March 27
• Deputy George Renfroe, along with other deputies, responded to Orwood Rd. for reports of an individual threatening suicide.
No contact was made during the initial investigation, but another call sent deputies back to the residence.
Deputies searched the area and were advised the suspect was seen coming from the woods. According to the report, a shot was fired and deputies raced back to the residence to find the suspect on the ground.
Deputy Steven McLarty deployed his taser before the suspect fired the shot to cause self inflicted injuries. MedStat and AirEvac were notified.
• Shiloh Rd., Courtland resident reported to Investigator Danny Beavers her grandson ran away from home again and stated he will not listen to her.
According to the report, Investigator Terry Smith has picked up the subject for running away.
• Deputy Lawrence spoke to a Coles Point Rd. resident who stated he arrived home and noticed a limb cut down and lying in the yard.
The resident stated he walked to the back door and noticed it had been tampered with. According to the report, the resident was missing $3,164 and an HP laptop.
• Investigator Beavers responded to a Crowder store where an individual advised his High Point 9mm gun was stolen from his vehicle.
• Herron Rd., Courtland resident reported to Deputy Renfroe her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend were at her residence using drugs.
According to the report, both suspects were gone prior to Deputy Renfroe’s arrival. The daughter returned to the residence and handed over some marijuana pipes from her bedroom to Deputy Renfroe.
March 28
• Deputy Lawrence responded to Curtis Locke Station Rd. where the resident reported she has been having problems with the suspect who was stalking her on Facebook and sending her inappropriate messages.
According to the report, the resident advised the suspect threatened to hurt and kill her. The resident stated she and her boyfriend feel threatened and want it to come to a stop.
March 29
•Liberty Hill Rd., Pope resident reported to Deputy Hailey he noticed his electric fence sparking and went to check it out and noticed someone had run over the fence and stolen his trailer.
• Pope Water Valley Rd., Pope resident reported to Deputy Still she is having problems with the suspect getting intoxicated and threatening her.
According to the report, the suspect came to the residence and broke the glass out of the door and threatened the resident.
• Mt. Olivet resident reported to Deputy Hailey she was running on Hunt Rd. when she was bitten by a dark colored dog. According to the report, the resident had to go to Merit Health for stitches.
• Curtis Road resident reported to Deputy Bill Furniss she and the suspect got into an altercation over a child and advised the suspect pushed her mother down and threatened her, her child, mother and grandmother.
The suspect called the resident in Deputy Furniss’ presence. Deputy Furniss stated he answered the first couple of times telling the suspect to stop. According to the report, the suspect advised Deputy Furniss he could not stop him from contacting the resident. The resident called back later stating the suspect was not threatening to kill the resident and her family. The resident was advised to call 911 if she saw the suspect around her property.
• Old Panola Rd., Sardis resident reported to Deputy Still the suspect has an easment across his property and as part of the agreement the suspect is supposed to close all gates that he opens.
According to the report, the resident stated the suspect continually leaves the gates open.

• March 25, vehicle ran off of Waldrup Rd. An injury was reported.
• March 25, vehicle flipped on Terza Rd. An injury was reported.
• March 28, private property accident occured on Westdale Drive.
• March 29, Car hit a deer on Highway 315 West.
