Pope dominates Benton County

The Pope Bulldogs went out on Tuesday night and dominated the Benton Co 20-0. Buccaneers. The Bulldogs consistenly ran the ball with their star running back Lataurus Carruth.
On their second offensive possesion Carruth broke loose for a 40-yard run that resulted in a touchdown. After converted on a two point conversion, the Bulldogs took a 8-0 lead.
After stopping the Buccaneers again the Bulldogs got back on the scoreboard. Carruth was responsible for another touchdown but this time he threw a halfback pass to Preston Marbury for 56 yards that gave them the score.
After failing to get the two point conversion the Bulldogs went up only six points and making the score 14-0. Late in the third quarter, Bulldogs had not yet given up a score but kept adding points as Carruth was responsible for his third touchdown of the night.
He ran the ball for a 55 yard touchdown but did not get the two point conversion which led to a 20-0 score. With the Buccaneers seemingly on a long drive they threw an interception to Marbury.
The Bulldogs took down the Buccaneers 20-0 and will be back against Coffeeville next Tuesday.
