GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.–Dollar General announced Wednesday it completed the purchase of the former Walmart Express location at 420 East Lee Street in Sardis. Dollar General anticipates relocating an existing store location into the purchased sites by October 2016.
Plans for the newly-relocated store include a fresh store layout with additional sales floor square feet, and expanded offerings such as fresh meat and produce.
This is one of 41 former Walmart Express locations across 11 states the retailer purchased.
“Dollar General is excited to add these locations to our existing store base. We look forward to the opportunity to better serve our customers in these communities by continuing to provide the convenience and value they expect from Dollar General,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief executive officer.
Sardis is also one of 37 locations where Dollar General intends to operate the fueling stations.
