Judge Bill McKenzie granted a bond reduction to a Rena Lara man after his request during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.
Hershell E. Ross, Rena Lara, had his $25,000 bond reduced to $1,250 for felony fleeing, child endangerment, disregard for traffic device, following too close, driving on wrong side of road, speeding, driving while license suspended, expired tag and no seat belt.
Ross requested the bond reduction so he could seek counsel.
Matt Thornton, 112 Vick St., Batesville, was fined $683 for possession of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of paraphernalia. He had the firearm enhancement charge remanded.
Shannon M. Simpson, 84-C Azzie Lee Rd., Courtland, failed to appear to answer charges for driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana in a vehicle.
Samantha E. Raburn, 2904 Heather Glen, Horn Lake, had a case continued for possession of marijuana in a vehicle.
Jasmarious Robinson, 302 Patton Lane, Batesville, entered guilty pleas to two counts of possession of marijuana and false information. He was fined $1,533.
Courtney L. Pride, 209 Claude St., Batesville, entered not guilty plea to trespassing on July 4. A trial was set for a later date.
Diamond D. Williams, 517-A Harmon Rd., Batesville, entered guilty pleas to improper equipment (broken tail light), no proof of insurance and no child restraint. She entered a not guilty plea to simple assault filed by affiant Jessica Tribble. A trial was set for August 24.
William A. Moore, 80 Bethel Rd., Batesville, failed to appear to answer shoplifting charges. Alright Bonding was notified.
Lula Lofton, 1250 Shiloh Rd., Courtland, had a speeding case remanded to the files at the request of the officer.
Christe P. Burke, Lot. 27 Ramsey Circle, Sardis, was found guilty in her abscence for driving while license suspended, no child restraint and no proof of insurance. She was fined $1,141.
Kelly Farris, 125 Panola Ave., Batesville, had a DUI-other continued. Farris is being represented by Attorney Kirk Willingham.
Portia Henderson, 126 Patterson St., Batesville, had a malicious mischief case dismissed after the judge told both affiant, Betty Miser and the defendant that the case was civil due to Mister wanting her windshield paid for.
“This is a criminal court. Do you want to charge her with a crime?” the judge asked.
“I want her to fix my window,” Mister replied.
“That’s a civil matter,” the judge replied.
“The criminal charge is dismissed,” he ruled.
Gregory W. Pride Jr., 11906 Hwy. 51, Batesville, was found guilty of domestic violence-simple and simple assault. He was fined $745.
