Margaret Ann Addkison Bailey

SARDIS–– Margaret Ann Addkison Bailey, 71, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at Sardis Community Nursing Home.
Services were held Monday, April 11 at the St. John Catholic Church in Sardis. Burial was held in Union Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis had charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bailey, born April 29, 1944, in Jackson to the late Margaret Elizabeth Kraft Addkison and the late Nolan Steward Addkison, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was active in Phi Mu Sorority. She worked at Renasant Bank in Sardis and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Truman Bailey; her infant son, George Scallorn Bailey and one brother, Nolan Steward Addkison.
Survivors include: two daughters, Brandi Webb and her husband, Jackson of Sumner and Bradie Bailey of Como; one son, Brandt Bailey and his wife, Jennifer of Sardis and two grandchildren, Lucy and Jack Webb.

Tomella Douglas

SOUTHAVEN––Tomella Douglas, 82, formerly of Batesville, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Golden Living Center.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Concord M.B. Church in Batesville, where she was a member. Visitation will be held today 1 – 6 at Eddie Robinson Funeral Home in Batesville. Christopher Townsend will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
Douglas, born March 26, 1934, in Batesville, to the late Issac Perry and Annie Mae Boss Douglas, was a retired cook for Mr. Jiffy Food Mart.

Cora Lee Copeland Edwards

COMO––Cora Lee Copeland Edwards, 55, died Monday, April 11, 2016.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Springfield M.B. Church in Senatobia. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time and also from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Friday at Rodgers Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Daniel Ray Perkins

OXFORD––Daniel Ray Perkins, 13, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home.
Daniel was born December 1, 2002 to Dorothy Perkins Potts and Randy Cook in Memphis.
In addition to his parents, he’s survived by: four brothers,  Morgan Cook of Jackson, Aubrey Cook of Mendenhall, Landon Potts and Chris Potts, Jr., both of Oxford; one sister, Sissy Potts Appleton of Batesville; his grandmother, Beverly Perkins of Oxford and his great-grandparents, Allen and Dorothy Wright of Oxford.

Audrey Monroe Shepard

Audrey Monroe Shepard, infant daughter of Jessica Carolyn Shepard of Batesville, died Friday April, 8, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Cold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Ruby Lee Koonce Sprabery

BATESVILLE––Ruby Lee Koonce Sprabery, 85, died April 12, 2016, at her home in Batesville. She is the wife of Edward Lamar Sprabery.
Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Bradford Chapel Cemetery in Grenada. Reverend David Hodges will officiate the service. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Mrs. Sprabery, born July 18, 1930 to the late John McNulty and Nellie Rose Koonce in Bruce, worked for Panola Mills and enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, taking care of her yard, decorating the house, and eating out.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband; Edward Lamar Sprabery of Batesville; two daughters, Vicki Lynn Sprabery Fuoco (Richard) of Batesville, Rebecca Jo Sprabery Moore (Scotty) of Water Valley; two sons; Dennis Sprabery of Olive Branch and Eddie Lee Huffman (Elaine) of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, James Ray Koonce (Lamerle Jeter) of Sardis; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her son; James Sharon Sprabery; four sisters, Mary James, Dorothy Hincy, Eva Mae Spicer, and Joni Sue Rusche.

Tom Clarence Tate

MARYVILLE, Tenn.–– Tom Clarence Tate, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Mr. Tate was born in Jackson, TN and enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam era as a Radio-man. He graduated from the University of Memphis after his military service and followed the family business by entering the auto industry with General Motors then American Motor Corp. Afterwards he moved into yacht sales in Florida and Virginia gaining the status of Captain.  After moving to the Maryville area Tom became a Real-estate Broker and enjoyed working in land sales. He was an avid Vol sports fan, attending every game that he could, either as a fan or as an usher. Tom was always full of life and active with the lives of his children and grandchildren coaching a basketball, soccer, or baseball team.  
He was a member of the Maryville Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Knoxville Shriners.  
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Judy M. Tate of Maryville; son, Will Tate of Oak Ridge; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Tate Overby  of Punta Gorda, FL, and Jennifer and Bill Terry of Knoxville; grandchildren, Mary Blair West of Denver, CO, and Wrennie Elizabeth West of Los Angeles; brother, Charles R. Tate and wife, Mary Sue of Denver, CO; sisters, Paula Tate Brereton and husband Dick of Jackson, TN, and Betty Elizabeth Tate Gallagher and husband Lee of Memphis, TN; Many nieces, nephews, and other family member also survive.
 A celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with Masonic Rites and military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Smith Pavilion from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Tom’s name to the Empty Pantry Fund c/o Paul Bales, P.O. Hellen Louise Thompson

SARDIS––Hellen Louise Thompson, 61, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Merit Health.
Services will be held Monday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Green M.B. Church in Sardis. Pastor Barry Jones will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Eddie Robinson Funeral Home.
Thompson, born March 3, 1955, in Sardis to the late A.B. Thompson and Geneva Dean Thompson, was a retired team leader for a distribution center and a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church.

Gladysteen Walls

DETROIT, Mich.––Gladysteen Walls, 63, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at West Camp M.B. Church. Pastor Harlem Harris Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in West Camp Cemetery in Batesville. Eddie Robinson Funeral Home in Batesville has charge.
Walls was born Dec. 19, 1953, in Detroit, to the late Ulysses Walls and Bessie Love Walls.
