Drug charges send man to grand jury

Three defendants were referred to the grand jury by Judge Jay Westfaul during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday.
Zachary S. Bokker, 422 Hickory Hill, Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for felony possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, no driver’s license and improper turn.
Kendrick Flowers, 234 35 N., Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for burglary. He is currently being held for MDOC.
Alysen D. Hurst, 44 4-H Rd., Batesville, had a case for felony possession of controlled substance and simple possession of marijuana continued.
Benjamin C. Baxter, 2775 Barnacre, Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for felony false pretense. The case was referred to the Grand Jury.
Amy O’Neal Shaw, 111 Shaw Rd., Pope, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. She was fined $443.
Leon Ross Jr., 225 W. Vance, Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges of simple possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended, failure to use a turn signal and no proof of insurance. Alright Bonding was notified.
Quintarius A. Miller, 2823 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, entered a not guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. A trial will be held May 4.
Keith Holmes, 230 Dunson Ave., Crowder, failed to appear to answer charges for simple possession of marijuana and old fines of $1,992.50 due since October 2011.
Ricky L. Henderson, 125 Jackson, Batesville, paid $417 in full prior to court for trespassing.
Ronnie L. Porter, 204 Lester, Batesville, had a malicious mischief charge dismissed after the affiant, Chenell Berry, failed to appear to prosecute.
Randall D. McCarty Jr., 566 Herron Rd., Courtland, entered a not guilty plea to disorderly conduct, interfering with a business and running a red light. A trial was set for April 27.
Derrick Pride, 6084 Curtis Rd., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to disorderly coduct-failure to comply. He was fined $647.
Alexis S. Taylor, 12475 Hwy. 310, Como, was fined $306 for no driver’s license and had a trial set for simple assault after entering a not guilty plea.
Amanda R. Broger, 240 Cooter Rd., Batesville, had charges for domestic violence-simple assault remanded.
Lynell Stamps, 1199 Tom Cooper, Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to false pretenses. A trial was set for April 20.
He also had old fines of $417 due since October 2015. The judge told him to have the fines paid in full by the end of the day or serve time in jail.
Alfred Hankins, 5023 Hwy. 35 South, Enid, had a continuance for vandalism so all parties can be in court to testify.
Jessica Tribble, 203-B Leonard St., Batesville, had a case continued for obstruction of traffic.
James A. Ladd, 1105 Hawkins Rd., Courtland, was found guity for shoplifting four packs of ribs from Kroger. He was fined $1,146.
The judge continued the case of Janice F. Williams, 8322 Highway 35 S., Batesville, for DUI, driving while license suspended, child endangerment and no proof of insurance.
A trial was set for April 13.
