Jack M. Cobb

LAUREL––Jack M. Cobb, 78, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Elmcroft Senior Living Center in Hurst, Texas.
Graveside services are Thursday at North Raleigh Cemetery in Raleigh.  Memory Chapel of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Cobb will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Lucas Funeral Chapel on Precinct Line Road in Hurst, Texas.
A longtime resident of Hurst, Mr. Cobb was born on September 22, 1937, in Batesville.  He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1959 and completed his specialist degree in music and additional advanced courses at the University of North Texas in 1971.
During his career as a lead trombonist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Mr. Cobb toured with numerous big band orchestras throughout the country and abroad.
Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Cobb and Annie M. Cobb.
Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Shelby Bounds Cobb.
Memorials may be sent to Tarrant County College, North East Campus, in Hurst, Texas, where Mr. Cobb was a professor of music for 35 years.

Archie Marquis Love

BATESVILLE––Archie Marquis Love, 44, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Merit Health.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gillion M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Connor will officiate. Eddie Robinson Funeral Home has charge.
Love, born Aug. 25, 1971, to Betty J. Love of Enid and the late Willie L. Love, worked in construction.
Survivors along with his mother include: sisters, Beverly Shannon Drane of Charleston, Janet Draper and Katrina Connor, both of Batesville; two brothers, Anthony Love of Courtland and Eric Love of Memphis.

John Gray

BATESVILLE––John Marion Gray, 53, died Monday,  December 21, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Born May 1, 1962 to the late Vivian Nichols Gray and John A. Gray Jr. in Houston, Texas, he was a retired welder.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sara Jean Gray Toliver and Melissa Anne Gray Steward both of Batesville; three sisters, Cindy Gray Ehause of Monroe, Mich., Audra Marie Gray and Jena Gray Hannah, both of Batesville and six grandchildren.
