Judge Bill McKenzie denied a Sardis man’s request for a bond reduction explaining it was the lowest bond possible for a felony during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.
Randy House, 211 Dewberry, Sardis, was referred to the grand jury for burglary-occupied and petit larceny. His bond remained at $2,500.
Lauren E. Robison, 247 Pollard St., Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for open container, possession of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of paraphernalia.
Cory D. Leland, 214 Tubbs Rd. No. 36, Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to open container and handicap parking. A trial was set for August 26.
Ahmed Bouchouka, 10 Sarah St. N, Charleston, entered a not guilty plea to simple assault. A trial was set for August 19.
Shawn Ragon, 897 Upton Rd., Pope, entered a not guilty plea to petit larceny by taking $300 in coins from a Coke vending machine on July 13. A trial was set for September 3.
Tabitha Hamilton, 21-A Scott Rd., Batesville, failed to appear to answer shoplifting charges. Alright Bonding was notified.
Cathy Sue Rudd, 3646-B Eureka Rd., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Walmart. She was fined $1,146.
Frank Arthur Griffin, 386-A Tubbs Rd., Batesville, entered the city’s work release program for 10 days in lieu of paying $562 in old fines due since July 2014.
Gearmee C. Davis, 109 Cole Dr., Batesville, was told to have his old fines of $1,075 due since January 2009 paid in full within two weeks or serve six months in jail.
Shannon Earby, 11 Ellzey Rd., Sardis, was found guilty of shoplifting an Otter Box and phone from Walmart after a short trial.
Walmart security provided video evidence of Earby taking the items.
Earby told the judge that was not him in the video.
Still shots of Earby were also provided as evidence.
“This isn’t you?” the judge asked as he held up the pictures.
Earby was fined $1,146.
Iesha D. Griffin, 107 MLK No. 5-H, Batesville, had a charge for simple assault dismissed after the affiant, Kayla Frost failed to appear to prosecute.
