Last weekend, the St. Jude Bass Classic was held on Sardis Lake. Before the main event, there were some pre-fishing events held around the county. Last weekend, the St. Jude Bass Classic was held on Sardis Lake. Before the main event, there were some  pre-fishing events held around the county. Saturday morning, Performance Marine was the venue for the autograph signing of Swamp People stars Gator Queen Liz Chevalier Choate (front, left) and her husband Justin Choate (back, far right). Also on hand were St. Jude patient Hayden Taylor of Jewell Ridge, Va. (front, right); (back, l. to r.) Sardis Mayor Billy Russell, and Performance Marine owners Tracy and Beverly Williams.
Hayden was diagnosed with a brain tumor at five years old, but now he is nine. He had surgery at University of Virginia and took chemotherapy and radiation at St. Jude. His father, Ronnie, reported all the cancer is gone.
