Public input sought in hearings 9/2/2014

A round of annual public hearings on budgets for the county and for municipalities begins today when Sardis’ mayor and aldermen meet at 4:30 p.m.
Sardis citizens will have opportunity during the hearing to comment on the town’s proposed fiscal 2015 budget that includes projected revenue of $1,113,648. The regularly scheduled meeting of Sardis’ mayor and aldermen will follow the hearing, starting at 5 p.m.
Public hearings on Panola County’s budget and the City of Batesville’s budget will follow on Monday, Sept. 8.
The Panola County Board of Supervisors has set its hearing on a proposed budget that includes $74,618,004 in projected revenue for 11 a.m. at the county courthouse in Batesville. The hearing will follow the supervisors’ regularly scheduled Second Monday meeting that will start at 9 a.m.
Batesville’s public hearing for its annual budget will begin at 6 p.m. Monday in the city hall. Citizens will be offered opportunity to comment on the city’s proposed budget that includes projected revenue of $21,770,020.
Como’s public hearing on its budget proposed for fiscal 2015 will be Tuesday, September 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the Como library meeting room.
The Como budget includes projected revenue of $1,050,500. The regular monthly meeting of Como’s mayor and aldermen is scheduled to follow, starting at 6 p.m.
