BATESVILLE — Aslean Kuykendall Lee, 88, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Springhill Asa M.B. Church in Courtland. Pastor Louis Wilson Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge.

Lee, born Aug. 7, 1925, in Batesville, to the late Junuis Kuykendall and Gertrude Coppage, was a member of Springhill Asa M.B. Church.

Survivors include: her step-daughter, Mary Louise Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; seven step-grandchildren and eight-step-grandchildren.

BATESVILLE — Irma Lee Martin, 81, died Saturday, Saturday, September 7, 2013, at her residence.

Services will be held Saturday at Concord M.B. Church. Pastor Edward S. Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge of arrangements.

Martin, born Jan. 22, 1922, in Batesville, to the late Stanley J. Thomas Sr. and Minnie L. Griffin, was a retired caterer and cook. She was a member of the Mother’s Board of Concord and former usher.

Survivors include: one brother, Stanley Thomas Jr. of Batesville; two sisters, Lula Bell Childs of Warner, Okla. and Wilkie Hentz of Batesville and grandchildren, Geoffery I. Bean and Kajavia Bean of Batesville.
