A public hearing is scheduled today at 5 p.m. at Sardis City Hall to offer the public an opportunity to see proposed changes in the Sardis redistricting plan.

The Sardis board of mayor and aldermen voted last Tuesday to move forward with a redistricting plan that would include two small changes affecting an estimated 21 people.

A meeting is set immediately following the public hearing to consider final approval of proposed changes.

Following final approval by the board, the plan will be sent to the U.S. Justice Department for scrutiny before becoming effective.
