Representatives from the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service will be on hand to describe and discuss various programs from landowners.

A flyer advertising the meeting is seeking participation from small farmers and socially disadvantaged farmers from Grenada, Panola, Tallahatchie, Tunica, Yalobusha, Coahoma and Quitman counties.

Thompson, a Democrat, now represents Panola after the county was moved into the 2nd Congressional District earlier this year along with Yalobusha and Grenada counties.

Thompson is running for re-election in November. He faces Republican Bill Marcy in the General Election.

Marcy is scheduled to hold a fund-raiser April 28 in Batesville.
