Circuit Judge Jimmy McClure revoked probation for an 18-year-old who allegedly took part in a March 25 homicide in Crenshaw.
Damion Stokes, who was convicted of armed robbery in 2007, is one of four people facing capital murder charges for the alleged killing of Ira Phillips Jr.
Stokes, when he was 14, began serving a prison sentence for robbing a grocery store in Crenshaw. After serving three years, he was placed on 10 years of supervised probation last year.
McClure revoked Stokes’ 10-year probation as the defendant stood before the judge, said Assistant District Attorney Jay Hale.
The hearing was held at the county courthouse in Batesville.
Authorities allege Phillips was shot in the back in what could have been a drug-related incident at an apartment complex. He was 20.
Three other defendants, JaQuentin Lawson, Derrick Dunston and Michael Ruffin, are also facing a capital murder charge for Phillip’s death.
Ruffin is also facing a conspiracy charge.
Ruffin was picked up April 8 by deputies.
Two other suspects were picked up the night of the shooting and a third was arrested the next morning.
