Police arrested Demarcus Bell, 18, of Crenshaw, and Christopher Lawrence Overton, 18, of Memphis.

Burglars broke a store window Friday night and stole cigars and cigarettes. They then returned Sunday night and broke a second window to steal similar items, said BPD Detective George Williford.

Cigars and seven packs of Newport cigarettes were stolen Sunday, according to a police report from Sgt. Shawn Dalton.

Camera footage from Sunday showed the burglars breaking the store window at 10:51 p.m. They were gone by 10:55.

Police showed a still image from camera footage to job corps personnel, who recognized one of the suspects as a student, Williford said.

A second student was also arrested and police believe a third suspect was involved, said the detective.

Williford said a padlock was stuffed into a pillowcase to break the store windows. Both items are issued to job corps students, he said.
