Offices at the City of Batesville will be closed today and Monday for Christmas Holidays and next Friday and Monday for New Year’s Holiday according to Batesville City Clerk Laura Herron.

Panola County offices will also be closed Friday and Monday December 24 and 27 as well as December 31 and January 3 for the New Year’s Holiday.

Carolyn Mills with the Panola County Administrators office said garbage service would run their regular routes with those workers not taking the Monday holidays.

She also reported that the Courtland Transfer Station would be open Monday for those with extra disposables.

The City of Batesville will have a dumpster for rubbish type waste at the Van Voris Street Parking Lot across from the old Panola Mills Building.

Herron said in case of city service emergencies Police Department dispatchers will notify service workers who will be on call throughout the holidays.

Most banks report closing at noon or a little after today, December 24, but will be open Monday.
