Batesville Tigers fall to Oxford in Super Bowl

The Batesville 9 & 10 year old Tigers football team fell to Oxford 18-6 in the Superbowl that was played Saturday at Vaught Hemingway stadium.

The Tigers kicked off to Oxford to start the game and they drove the ball down to score on a two yard run with 3:03 on the clock in the first quarter but the PAT attempt failed.

The Tigers answered with a touchdown when Jordan Strong scored on an 80 yard run with 1:58 on the clock and the PAT attempt failed tieing the game at six.

Oxford fumbled on the next drive and Tiger’s Darrell Crowder recovered at the 50.

With 6:40 in the second quarter, Oxford scored on a two yard run but the two point conversion failed putting them up 12-6.

The Tigers were driving and attempted a pass that was intercepted on the Tiger 45 with 39.9 seconds left in the third quarter.   Oxford scored a few seconds into the third quarter and the two point conversion run failed to give them an 18-6 lead and a win.
