COURTLAND–Bobby Lee Chapman, 61, died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Pilgrims Rest M. B. Church. Rev. J.C. Hentz will officiate. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.
Chapman, born Oct. 29, 1948, to the late Adolph Chapman and Estella King of Milwaukee, was a factory worker and a member of Pilgrims Rest M.B. Church.
Survivors along with his mother include: three daughters, Melissa Ford of Memphis, Clarice Jackson of Courtland and Cherise Bennett of Milwaukee; one son, Travis King of Milwaukee; seven sisters; 11 brothers and 12 grandchildren.
Margaret Kay King Horne
BATESVILLE–Margaret Kay King Horne, 61, formerly of Lambert, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
Services were Thursday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was in Lambert Cemetery. Rev. Calvin King officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Horne, born Nov. 18, 1948, was a homemaker and a member of Elliot Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Dale Horne Sr.
Survivors include: one daughter, Libby Moore of Crowder; one son, Sonny Horne of Grenada; one brother, William D. King of Silver Springs, Md. and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Billy Graham Ministries.
Alta Marshall Terry
SARDIS–Alta Marshall Terry, 81, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at her residence.
Services were Thursday at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. Burial was in Memphis Memory Gardens. High Point Funeral Home had charge.
Born in the Blackjack Community near Sardis to the late Floyd Orville Marshall Sr. and Margaret Lucile May, she married James B. Terry in 1946 after his return from Army service in Japan. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. She was retired from the Internal Revenue Service.
Her husband also died Friday, September 24.
Survivors include: one son, James L. Terry of Memphis; one daughter, Marsha Rider of Memphis; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the person’s choice.
James B. Terry Jr.
SARDIS–James B. Terry Jr., 83, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at his residence.
Services were Thursday at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. Burial was in Memphis Memory Gardens. High Point Funeral Home had charge.
He was born to the late James Burney Terry Sr. and Eula Mae Johnson.
After returning from Army service in Japan he married Alta Marshall Terry in 1946. He was retired from International Harvester. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a member of the sanctuary choir.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Marshall Terry.
Survivors include: one son, James L. Terry of Memphis; one daughter, Marsha Rider of Memphis; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
