The Tigers are undisputedly the No. 1 ranked team in Mississippi while Colquitt holds the No. 5 spot in Georgia 5A.

The Moultrie Chamber of Commerce is welcoming all game-goers with a pre-game lunch at the Middle School for $8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. eastern time.

South Panola opened the season last Saturday with a 38-0 shutout of Petal. Colquitt opened the season with an upset loss to Cook County 15-9.

The game is drawing coverage as the “inter-state high school football matchup.”

Colquitt is coached by former Hoover, Ala. coach Rush Propst who holds a 191-70 record.

Propst relayed his excitement about the game to Hercules Sports Management and said, “Anytime that you can play a top 10 team nationally at your place is very exciting… I can truthfully say that South Panola has not gotten the national credit that they deserve. I have had success in my career with big match-ups like this, but it will be a first for this team.

“We are inviting Mississippi’s best, so this game will showcase what I think will be some of the most exciting football in the nation,” Propst continued.
