Madison Gray Kilgore and Woodrow Ellis Drake were married on June 5 at Batesville Presbyterian Church.  The brides’ parents are Mr. and Mrs. Don Frank Kilgore of Batesville.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ernest Drake also of Batesville.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beanice Hubbard Kilgore of Courtland and the late Wiley Frank Kilgore, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spears Phillips.

The groom is the grandson of the late Mrs. Joyce McClaun Hudson, the late Ellis Hoyle McGlaun and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thurston Drake.

The Reverends Melodie Jones Pointon and Thomas Michael Bryson performed the ceremony.  Vocalists, Laura Hill, Susanne VanDyke , David Honnoll, organist Cherie Matthews and violinist Bobby Davis provided nuptial music.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight ivory silk that featured a bateau neckline.

The fitted bodice had silk covered buttons and a dropped waist which flowed into a fully gathered ball gown skirt with a chapel length train adorned with a border of French Alencon lace.

She wore a fingertip veil of illusion and carried a hand-tied nosegay of blue and green hydrangeas, orchids and circus roses.  

The bouquet was wrapped in ivory satin ribbon, accented with green Hypericum and stephanotis embellished with pearls.

Attending the bride as her maid of honor was Kathryn Lawrence Robison.  Bridesmaids were sister of the groom, Haley Houser Drake, Taylor Lott Capwell, Lauren Marie Goulet, Jessica Catherine Kornegay, Kristen Claire Marriam, Magan Lawrence Shipp, Kelli Lott Stainback and Alexandra Burch Waldrup.  Caroline Collins Guckert served as junior bridesmaid.  

The bridesmaids wore formal gowns of champagne silk charmeuse and carried bouquets of blue and green hydrangeas with circus roses accented with green Hypericum and wrapped with ivory satin ribbons.   

Mattilyn Marie Herron and Stirling Grace Smith were flower girls.

The honorary bridesmaids were Taylor Phillips Beard, Laura Louise Hill, Ashley Hill Sinclair and Misty Kilgore Wright all cousins of the bride and Sarah Spears Black, Allie Elaine Heafner, Katherine Steece Robertson, Amanda Claire Smith and Lindsay Ruth Thomas also served as the bride’s proxy.  

William Ernest Drake, father of the groom, served as best man.  The groomsmen were William Dallas Allgood, Parker Noble Amis, Jamie Giles Houston IV, Clinton Fillmore Powers, Joel Shelton Rivers, Blakely Scott Shipp, John Medley Smoot Jr., Robert Rushing Wilbanks and Charles Douglas Wilson II.  

Ushers were Jonathan Wade Aldridge, Daniel Dwayne Barmer, Christopher Ray Reed, John William Reed III and Derek Keith Sinclair.  Warren Andrew Herron II was ring bearer.

Phillip William Correro II, cousin of the groom served as acolyte.  

Program attendants were Ellen Cochran Truitt, cousin of the groom and Richard Gresham Correro, cousin of the bride.  

Wedding and reception attendants were Addison Kate Buntin Mary Lynn Lewis, Callie Blake Masterson and Charley Ann Nix.  

Rice girls were Jolie Rebecca Avery, Lily Boyd Avery and Ava Jay Williams.  

Peggy Vinson and Susan Lewis directed the wedding.  

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Panola Country Club with music by Lighthorse Harry.

After honeymooning in San Francisco and Sonoma, the couple make their home in Batesville.

Ward-Brassell

Nettie Cole Ward of Crowder and Drexso D. Brassell, son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Fonzo Milan Sr. and Mrs. Mary Milan of Batesville will be united in marriage on Saturday, July 17 at 4 p.m. at First Oak Grove M.B. Church in Crowder.

The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Stanford Cole Sr. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carter of Jonestown and the late Mr. and Mrs. Perk Cole.

The bride-elect graduated from South Panola High School. She is a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College where she studied practical nursing. She is employed by ICS Headstart as an outreach worker.

The prospective groom attended South Panola High School. He is employed by ACI as a painter.

A reception will follow the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at Marks Community House.

Crowley-Revere

Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Crowley of Enid announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Louise Crowley, to Robert Ryan Revere, son of Doctor and Mrs. Robert Kennedy Revere of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louise Holland Crowley and the late Mr. Everett Wesley Crowley of Batesville, Mississippi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Preston Rainey of Enid.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Dollie Weaver Brown, and the late Mr. Hugh Marshall Brown of Sevierville, Tenn. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roselle Revere of Mendenhall, Mississippi.  

Miss Crowley is a 2002 graduate of North Delta School in Batesville.  She attended the University of Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical science.  She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority while at Ole Miss.  She recently graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate of Pharmacy.  Miss Crowley is employed by Fred’s Pharmacy as a pharmacist.

Mr. Revere is a 2000 graduate of Jackson Academy.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in banking and finance and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.  He recently received his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law.  He is associated with Smith, Phillips, Mitchell, Scott, and Nowak in Batesville.  

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on August 7, 2010 at the Batesville First United Methodist Church.  A reception will follow at the Panola Country Club.

All family and friends are invited to attend. 

McCullar-Callihan

Heather Nichole McCullar of Batesville and Dustin Randall Callihan of Batesville were united in marriage on June 12 at Pope Baptist Church in Pope.

The Rev. Chris Wolfe performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Terry and Ginger McCullar of Batesville. She is the granddaughter of Bobbie Roberson and Joe Gross of Courtland and the late Reubel Robertson and Dean McCullar and the late D.L. McCullar of Enid.

The groom is the son of Brenda and Larry Parker of Pope and Bob Callihan of Batesville.

He is the grandson of Grace Avant and the late Dueal Avant of Batesville and the late H.L. and Evelyn Callihan of Batesville.

Courtney McCullar of Batesville served the bride as maid of honor.

Amanda Scott of Batesville and Kristi Burns of Oxford served as matrons of honor.

She was also attended by Amanda McClain of Batesville, Marsha Hubbard of Courtland and Tracey Johnson of Pope.

Presley Reese Callihan, the daughter of the bride and groom, was the flower girl.

The bride wore an ivory mermaid-style fitted gown designed with a sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of white peonies accented blue peonies and brown feathers.

The attendants wore brown taffeta dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath with brown feathers.

Doug Callihan of Lexington, Ky. served the groom as best man.

Andy Redd and Brandon Scott, both of Batesville, Parker Rodgers of Pope, Richard Putman of Courtland and Shane Rose of Sardis served as groomsmen.

Taylor Layne Scott, the son of Amanda and Brandon Scott of Batesville, was the ring bearer.

A reception followed the ceremony at The Place in Pope.

The couple make their home in Batesville.

Pattridge-Rhines

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pattridge of Batesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherrye Nicole Pattridge, to Jack Emerald Rhines III son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rhines of Collierville, Tenn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Jenkins of Pleasant Grove and Mr. William Allen of Memphis and the late Emily Pattridge Allen of Batesville.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brim of Corvallis, Ore. and the late Walter Brooks of Redding, Calif. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rhines Sr. of Eudora.

The bride-elect graduated from North Delta. She is a graduate of Northwest Community College where she studied nursing. She is employed by Frensenius Medical Company as a dialysis nurse.

The prospective groom graduated from Magnolia Heights. He is employed by Jenkins Planting Company as a farmer.

The wedding is to take place on Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Breezes Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.

 Perkins-Coleman

The groom is the grandson of the late Albert Floyd and Mrs. Katherine Parker of Oxford and the late Mr. John R. and Mrs. Juanita Coleman of Oxford.

The bride-elect graduated from South Panola High School. She is a graduate of Baptist College of Health Sciences where she received a bachelor of radiological science with a specialty in track diagnostic medical sonography. She is employed by Surgery Consultants in Oxford as a registered sonographer.

The prospective groom graduated from Oxford High School. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a bachelor of business administration and Northwest Community College where he received an associate’s degree in mortuary science.

He is employed by Coleman’s Funeral Home as a funeral director and embalmer.

The wedding is to take place on Saturday, July 24 at Eureka United Methodist Church.
