Henry becomes first SP student to sign volleyball national letter of intent

Recent South Panola graduate Deidre Henry signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball with Midway College out of Midway, Ken.

Midway College is located between Lexiton and Frankfurt approximately 10 miles from each.

Henry played on the girls volleyball team at South Panola and also plays with a Memphis club team. Memphis Metro is a traveling volleyball team which is part of the Memphis Volleyball Association.

She does have the distinction of being the first person from South Panola to sign to play volleyball on a collegiate level from high school.

The team played in Louisiana this past weekend.

Midway College contacted Henry through the Memphis Metro team and asked seniors to tryout and she made the team.

She is the daughter of Walter and Delilah Henry and has a brother on the football team Walter.
