 Charles “Chuck” Dean Deakin

SARDIS— Charles “Chuck” Dean Deakin, 85, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Deakin, born May 2, 1924,  in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Harold and Luella Bayless Deakin, served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a self employed architect.

Survivors include: his wife, Rebecca Keener Deakin of Sardis; two daughters, Martha Deakin Gullo of Champain, Ill. and Ruthanne Deakin Vogel of Miami, Fla.; two sons, Mark R. Deakin of Reston, Va. and Paul W. Deakin of Nashville and five grandchildren.

Joyce Hale McGlaun Hudson

BATESVILLE— Joyce Hale McGlaun Hudson, 82, died March 21, 2010, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. Mike Childs officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home had charge.

Hudson, born July 23, 1927, in Houston, Miss., to Earl R. and Arlene Hale, was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in edcuation. She taught school in Florida, Louisiana, Virginia and Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ellis H. McGlaun and Reginald Hudson

Survivors include: two daughters, Joy Drake and her husband, Bill of Batesville and Sally Truitt and her husband, Tommy of Nashville and four grandchildren, Woody and Haley Drake of Batesville and Diggs and Ellie Truitt of Nashville.

Cora Jewell Miller Ragon

BATESVILLE— Cora Jewell Miller Ragon, 87, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Grenada Lake Medical Ceneter.

Services were Tuesday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Ragon, born November 11th, 1922 to the late John Miller and Letha Merriman Miller, was a retired factory employee of Tucker Manufacturing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Watt Ragon.

Survivors include: one daughter, Pam Jones of Cleveland; three sons, Harvey Haney of Jackson, Larry Haney of Brandon, and Jim Ragon of Columbus; two sisters, Marie Horn of Temple, Texas and Opal Moore of Temple six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
