The North Delta Green Wave baseball team is still struggling to get runs across the plate.
The Green Wave traveled to Indianola Thursday for a district doubleheader and lost both 4-3, 8-4.
The first game in the three-game series was lost last Monday 2-1 by the Green Wave.
In the first game, Ethan Taylor pitched the complete game in six innings, giving up four runs – three earned, eight hits, allowed no walks and had four strikeouts.
The Green Wave had eight hits in the game.
Michael Magee led at the plate going 2-for-3 with a triple. Other hitters include Taylor, 2-for-3; John Cody Dalrymple and Jim Tom Copeland, 1-for-3 each; Geri Lamm and Austin Gant, 1-for-4 each.
In the nightcap, Lamm started and pitched three innings. He gave up two earned runs, three hits, walked four and had two strikeouts.
Ethan Waldrip pitched in relief and gave up six runs, only two earned, four hits, allowed one walk and had one strikeout.
The Green Wave had 10 hits in this game.
Lamm went 2-for-4 followed by SyPritchard and Derrick Shawn, 2-for-3 each. Other hitters include Taylor, 1-for-1; Gant, 1-for-4; Copeland and Bailey Guckert, 1-for-3 each.
The Green Wave started a three-game district series with Marshall Academy last night in Holly Springs, but the score was not available at press time.
The other two games will be played in a doubleheader at North Delta Thursday at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
