Sybil Inez Jones

MEMPHIS– Sybil Inez Tutor Jones, 89, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

Services were Thursday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Park. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Jones, born Jan. 15, 1921, to the late Carl Tutor and Myrtie Brown Tutor, was a retired factory worker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Jones.

Survivors include: one daughter, Janice Jones Micklos of Memphis; two brothers, Curtis Tutor of Courtland and Delma Tutor of Tunica and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made sent to First Baptist Church, 104 Panola Ave., Batesville, 38606 and Ridgeway Baptist Church, 2500 Ridgeway Rd., Memphis, Tenn. 38115.

COMO– Viola Hood Russell, 90, died Monday, January 25, 2010.

Services were Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Eugene Howell, Rev. Dan Stroud and Rev. Don Hill officiated. Burial was in Chapel Town Cemetery.

Russell, born Aug. 17, 1919, in Tocowa, to the late William Henry and Nancy Layton Hood, was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and won many ribbons for quilts and cooking. She was a  member of the Curtis Union Quilting Club. She was a retired factory worker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Russell.

Survivors include: three daughters, Lila Francis Russell Neeham of Rossville, Tenn., Viola Mae Russell Felts of Mt. Pleasant, Rebecca Russell Myers of Oak Harbor, Wash., Frankie Lynn Russell Simmerman of Como and Teresa Kay Russell Hardin of Jonesboro, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
