Lady Green Wave win with last second Hebert shot

Linsey Hebert drained a three-pointer with two seconds remaining to give the North Delta Lady Green Wave a thrilling 46-45 victory over Madison Ridgeland Academy in the Indianola tournament Monday night. The Green Wave was then involved in another nail-biter the following night as they suffered a 45-43 overtime loss to Oak Hill Academy.

Sara Waldrip led the Lady Wave in the victory over Madison Ridgeland with 14 points and six rebounds. Bradi Beard followed with 10 points, six rebounds, three tips and four assists. Madison Greenlee followed with nine points and two steal`s. Lauren Kimzy added six points while Hebert finished with five points. Sophomore Kourtney Norris rounded out the scoring with two points, four rebounds, two blocked shots and a pair of steals.

North Delta, (2-3), battled back from a 28-17 halftime deficit to Oak Hill before falling in overtime to the Raiders. Beard was the leading scorer with 12 points followed by Kimzey with 10. Madison Greenlee added nine while Hebert registered six while Waldrip chipped in with four points. Hannah Greenlee aslo added a basket.

North Delta will be back in action Monday at Tunica. The Green Wave scheduled home opener against Magnolia Heights has been moved to Nov. 23.
