The Panolian’s special “Best of Panola County” section, containing the results of balloting among the newspaper’s readers, will be published on Friday, August 1.

Readers were asked to vote last month for their picks for “best” in a variety of categories among Panola businesses and institutions.

A technical problem delayed publication of the special tabloid, which was scheduled to be published today, according to Panolian publisher John Howell.

“We have been overwhelmed with the positive response to this project,” Howell said.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm with which this contest has been received by our readers and our advertisers,” he added.
