Back to School rally set at Green Hill
To the Editor:
Across the nation the first weekend in August is known as National Kids Day. This year we would like to celebrate this event locally by calling it a Back to School Rally. At this event we would like to get the kids motivated and ready for the upcoming school year.
The rally will take place on August 4 on the grounds of Green Hill Elementary from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. We plan to have the Partnership of Healthy Mississippi along with the SWAT Bug Car (Students Working Against Tobacco). Also, on this day, we plan to have activities for parents, educational materials, motivational speakers along with free school supplies.
Green Hill Elementary would like to give individuals in the community the opportunity to assist us with this endeavor. Any donation that you could supply will be greatly appreciated. All donations and supplies should be brought to Green Hill Elementary before August 1.
Having this event before school begins will be a way to let the kids know that they are important. At the same time kids will be able to share a day with their parents before starting school.
If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please fell free to contact DeWayne Chapman at 662-487-1074 or 662-934-4331. Thank you for supporting the students in our community.
Sincerely,
DeWayne Chapman
