I was intrigued by one of the cartoons in last Friday’s The Panolian (Ricky Nobile’s editorial cartoon depicting “country” fried catfish coming from the “country of China) because it seems to reflect some of my own questions about the source of some of the catfish(?) I have been served recently.
I am concerned because if this practice is allowed to continue unabated, it could hurt not only sales at grocery stores but could soon cause the loss of one of our state’s primary businesses.
I would seriously encourage affected businesses get together very soon and form an association to work closely with local, county and state officials to determine the extent of the problem and do what must be done to resolve it.
