Legion Yankees down the Royals 11-6

In the first game Thursday, May 24, the Yankee’s beat the Royals by a score of 11-6. The winning pitcher was Colby Gammill and the loss went to Austin Melton.

Hitting for the Yankee’s were Gammill, Ryan Maxwell and Chris Brown going three for four with each getting doubles. J.J. Kilpatrick was two for four.

Getting hits for the Royals were Wesley Gregg, Melton, and Wilder each going two for three.

In the night cap the Red Sox beat the A’s by the score of 8-3 with Matt Hendrix getting the win and Barnes taking the loss.

 Hits for the winners were Bobby Epps, Colby Runnels, Taylor Rotenberry, all going three for four and Hendrix and Calvin Hawkins going three for four.The hits for the A’s were Joey Gabbard, Mitch Helms and Taylor Meeks, all going 3 for 3.

Tuesday the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 3-2.

Ryan Maxwell got the win and Taylor Rotenberry took the loss.

Hitting for the Yankees were Chris Brown, Ethan Waltrip who went three for three and J.J. Kilpatrick and Gowan Cox who went two for two.

The Royals and the A’s tied in the second game 8-8.

Going three for three with the A’s were Austin Melton, Wilder and Lee Self. Hitting two for two for the A’s were Will Dickens, Wesley Gregg, Redwine, Brown and Parker.

Hitting three for three for the Royals were Joey Gabbard, Hunter Lawrence and Taylor Meek.

Hitting two for two for the Royals were Milton Helmes and N. Stewart.

The teams will be back in action Tuesday, June 5. At 5:30 p.m. the Yankees and A’s will play, followed by the Red Sox and Royals at 7:30 p.m.
