season starts
The first games of the 13-15 years old Baseball at American Legion Park were played Tuesday night.
The Yankees and the Red Sox played in the opener with the Red Sox winning 6-3. The winner pitcher was Matt Hendrix and Colby Gammill took the loss.
For the winning team, Hendrix and Taylor Rotenberry went three-for-three. For the Yankees, Gammill and Eathan Waltrip each went two-for-three.
In game two, the Royals and the A’s matched up with the A’s winning 12-2.
The winning pitcher was Hunter Lawrence and the loss went to Wes Greg.
The A’s had Lawrence, Drew Hurst, Joey Gabbard and Blake Snider all going three-for-three. For the Royals Matt Brown went two for two.
The teams play twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
