BJH Tigers scrape by with the win over Lafayette

Batesville Junior High eighth grade Tigers barely scraped by with a 12-10 win against Lafayette Tuesday night at home. The seventh grade Tigers fell short of the win, 13-9.
Lafayette scored first on the eighth grade Tigers with a basket and a free throw adding another point to their score. Dre Moore made a shot for three to tie the score at the end of the first. In the second, Marques Pryor and made the free throw for another point. Pryor struggled to reach the net but was succesful with a basket. Lafayette added three points to their score in the third, taking the lead by one. Pryor wasn’t going to allow them the lead for long as he managed to put up four points for the Tigers with two baskets. The Tigers fought to keep Lafayette from scoring, but a free throw shot gave Lafayette another point. Tymdarreus Taylor got a shot for two, making both for two points. In the last five seconds of the game a Lafayette player shot is successful to end the game with a final score of 12-10.

The Tigers were unable to score in the first as Lafayette took off scoring with five points. The Tigers fought to come back in the second with Trenderous Sanford scoring three and Seadun Clark scoring two on a free throw. Lafayette continued to score, tacking on another three points. Sanford scored all three points for the Tigers in the third after being fouled twice. After two fouls, Lafayette scored two and two separate free throws.
Emarrian Boyd scored the final point for the Tigers on a free throw. Lafayette continued scoring down to the last few seconds managing three points in the fourth. The Tigers were unable to come back and fell to Lafayette 13-9.
