Defendants failing to appear in court issued warrants

Judge Jay Westfaul referred several defendants to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.
Jerian M. Sims, 911 Waterworks Rd., Columbus, was bound over to the grand jury for possession of controlled substance with intent to sale.
Tami D. Lott, 2854 Hwy. 35 South, Charleston, was bound over to the grand jury for felony possession of controlled substance.
Rodney L. Harris, 221-B Henry Harris Rd., Courtland, had old fines of $381 and was given time served along with being bound over to the grand jury for felony possession of controlled subtance with intent to distribute.
Kayla M. Shaw, 916 Patton Taylor, Southaven, was returning with an attorney announcement for misdemeanor embezzlement from Cracker Barrell.
She returned to let the judge know she did not have a lawyer.
A trial was set for October 19.
Jeremy H. Lott, 304 Enid-Teasdale, Enid, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. He was fined $443.
Whally S. Pollard, 8417 Curtis Rd., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. He was fined $443 due in 30 days.
Doll Jones, 1414 Curtis-Locke Station, Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for simple possession of marijuana. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
Rico Harrison, 145 Hadorn, Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for open container, no driver’s license, no tag, no proof of insurance and old fines of $1,665 due since August 2010.
Linda K. Gross, 450 Union Rd., Sardis, failed to appear to answer charges for shoplifting. A warrant was issued along with Ask First Bonding being notified.
Stacy F. Watters, 431 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for DUI-second (refusal) and careless driving. Fox Bonding was notified.
Jody Lynn Smith, 110 Jeff Sanders Rd., Batesville, had a simple assault case dismissed due to lack of prosecution.
Denise King, 100 Woods St., Batesville, was ordered to have her fines of $522 new and old paid in full by October 19 or serve time in jail.
Wanda L. Jones, 55 Carlisle Rd., Courtland, had contempt of court-old fines of $546 due since October 2015.
Her fines are due in 30 days or she will serve time in jail.
During a rare civil type case, between Brittany Draper and Johnny E. Davis Jr., involving a domestic violence-protection order.
Judge Westfaul let all parties know the protection order expired June 2015 and any other needs involved in the case would be handled in another court.
