Green Wave fans encouraged to wear pink to St. Joe’s game

North Delta heads into a matchup with St. Joseph Catholic High School tonight.
This comes after beating Bayou 55-20 last week. Homecoming week ended with a blowout win to go with a new homecoming queen.
Coach Brandon Ciaramitaro liked what he saw from his team last Friday.
“2016 Homecoming proved to be an exciting time at North Delta,” he said. “I was extremely proud of how our team executed Friday night. Our focus was right where it needed to be.
“The team played their best game of the year,” Ciaramitaro added. “We needed to win and did. We had our best offensive performance of the year and had several explosive plays.”
With that in mind, a different monster approaches in St. Joe’s. The Irish are 5-2 on the year and only have one loss in district.
They are looking to land the second place spot of the district behind Indianola. North Delta scored 55 last week, but the fighting Irish are looking to be above the 50 mark for the third straight game.
Looking forward to the matchup, Coach Ciaramitaro said the team cannot continue to dwell on the success against Bayou.
“We now turn our attention to St. Joe,” he said. “They are very talented at each position. Our pass defense will be tested this week.”
This week will also be the breast cancer awareness game where pink is encouraged.
“Bring a friend, helps us to have the home field advantage, and wear pink,” Ciaramitaro said.
