By Emily Williams
During Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday, Judge Bill McKenzie dismissed a simple assault case saying there was not sufficient proof.
Alexandria C. Powell was found not guilty of assaulting Xiaogin Dong on May 18  at 206 Calvary St., Batesville, where Powell resided at the time.
Affiant Xiaogin Dong testified she was Powell’s landlord. She said her reason for going to Powell’s residence was to collect rent.
She said after words were exchanged she was pushed, but didn’t need medical attention.
