The South Panola fastpitch softball teams traveled to Grenada for the Lady Chargers’ Strike-Out for cancer games last Wednesday. Batesville Junior high team lost their game 5-4, junior varsity won 2-1, and the varsity game ended early after a transformer blew, causing all lights to go out, leaving the game scoreless.
Varsity played four innings with neither team scoring any runs. In the top of the fifth inning, Sydney Morgan got on base with a single to right. Then, after a 1-2 count on Amber Helmes, the lights went out leaving an eerie feeling amongst the crowd. That feeling was soon replaced by laughter as both teams decided to have a dance-off as they danced to songs such as Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” and Rihanna’s “Work”.

In the bottom of the fourth, the bases were loaded for Grenada and the game was called as time expired, allowing the Lady Tigers to make it out with the win.
