‘Deuce’ is speaker for B&G Club banquet

Former New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Steak and Steak Banquet to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Mississippi.
The dinner will be held March 24 at the Batesville Civic Center at 6 p.m.
McAllister, born in 1978 in Lena, Mississippi, set records at Ole Miss where he played from 1997 to 2000.
McAllister is the only player in the history of Ole Miss to record three seasons with at least 1,000 all-purpose yards. In 1999 He was awarded the Conerly Trophy for the top Mississippi college football player.
He was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft and played eight seasons, culminating with the Saints’ 2009 Super Bowl championship.
Twice he was selected for the Pro Bowl.
His Catch 22 Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of underprivileged youth in the Gulf South Region.
