Batesville Police Department occurrence reports for the weekend released to The Panolian revealed two U-Haul two dollies missing from Quality Carpets who is the local franchisee of the rental products on Highway 51 South.
Patrolman Mark Mills’ report indicated that an inventory check earlier on Tuesday, Dec. 1 revealed the tow dollies were missing. Both are orange in color and bear the the name U-Haul stamped on the side.
The report provided had the worth of the dollies redacted. Both are used to tow vehicles. The date of the report was Friday, December 4.
Another report, also by Patrolman Mills, revealed a bicycle stolen from Noble Street Saturday, December 5.
A resident reported that her son witnessed someone taking his bicycle at 3 a.m. The report also stated that her son, “. . . heard a knock on the door and when he looked out the window to see who it was, a black male was grabbing his bicycle and loading it into the back of a truck.”
The bicycle was described as being white with a female frame, an Ole Miss sticker on the side and a seat, “too small for the frame,” with an estimated value of $300.
