Terry Lee Corley
POPE––Terry Lee Corley, 68, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at his residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Concord M.B. Church in Batesville with military honors. Pastor Brian M. Odhiambo will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge.
Corley, born Oct. 8, 1947, in Batesville, to the late Moses Corley and Lucille Thomas, was retired after 24 years from the United States Air Force. He was a member of First Concord M.B. Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary A. Corley of Batesville; four sons, William Willingham of Germany, Clifton Reid and Christopher Reid, both of Goldsboro, N.C. and Douglas Reid of Atlanta; three daughters, Shonique Sanders of Bethel Springs, JoEsteel Nabors of Holly Springs and Wanda Reid of Goldsboro,.; two brothers, Lonnie James Corley of Batesville and Floyd Thomas of Milwaukee; three sisters, Lorna Corley Wooding of North Carolina, Teresa Corley and Lynn Corley, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Victoria “Vickie” Lynn Eidson
POPE––Victoria “Vickie” Lynn Eidson, 59, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held Friday at Wray’s Chapel Church of God. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Scott Curtis and Rev. Matt Hill officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Eidson, born March 20, 1956, in Panola County, to the late George Lamar Roebuck and Mary Syble Morrow Roebuck, was retired and a member of Wray’s Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include: her husband, Eugene Eidson of Pope; two daughters, Mary Tiner and Addison Eidson, both of Pope; one son, Edward Eidson of Hernando; two brothers, Bobby Roebuck and Ricky Roebuck, both of Pope and three grandchildren.

James William “J. W.” Griffin
COURTLAND–– James William “J. W.” Griffin, died Wednesday,  October 14, 2015, at his residence.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crowder Cemetery. Reverend Larry Kilgore and Reverend Bobby Holland will officiate. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. until services at Wells Funeral Home, who has charge.
Griffin, born March 2, 1942 to the late James Owen Griffin and Lillie Mae Harrison Griffin in Lambert, was a carpenter all of his life.
Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn Hawkins Griffin of Courtland; three daughters; Sissy Caine and Krissy Austin, both of Courtland, Tonya Klytta of Pope, step daughter Christiana White of Courtland; two sons, Michael Wayne Griffin of Batesville, and Joe Griffin of Courtland; one sister, Kathy Daugherty of Courtland; one brother, Sammy Griffin of Como; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Michael A. Hacker
GOSHEN, Ohio––Michael A. Hacker, 30, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky while on a camping trip.
Services will be held today at noon at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Myers Cemetery.
Hacker, born September 8, 1985 in West Palm Beach, Fla. to Pamela L. Hacker, formerly of Batesville of Hernando, and the late Tommy “Rabbit” Hacker, attended Gateway Christian Academy in Sardis where he graduated salutatorian. He attended South Panola High School where he played trumpet in the band. He was as member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church, a diesel mechanic and employed working on Riverboats.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife Kristy Lynn Hacker; step-daughter Samantha Ann Ilijin; two brothers, Joseph Lawson and Matthew Hacker; his step-brother, Patrick Jolly and one sister, Cheyanne Hacker.

Bobbie Jean Jackson
COMO–– Bobbie Jean Jackson, 68, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Como.
Servcies will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Liberty Hill C. M. E. Church in Como. Visitation will be held from noon until service time and also today from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Rodgers Funeral Home, who has charge. Burial will be in Cistern Hill Church Cemetery.
Jackson was a member of Liberty Hill C. M. E. Church and the singing group Soul Seekers of Como.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Jackson.
Survivors include: six daughters, Sherry Petty, Brenda Jackson and Tiffany Jackson, all of Como, Gearlin Jackson of Senatobia, Angela Pratcher and Shaquista Jackson, both of Sardis; three sons, Willie Jackson Jr. of Nolanville, Texas, Kenneth Jackson of Senatobia and Cedric Jackson of Sardis; eight sisters, Cora Lee Wooten and Irene Davis, both of Senatobia, Lee Ola Wheatley and Luella Harris, both of Como, Earlene Howard of Holly Springs, Eddie Ellis of St. Louis, Louise Danner of Memphis and Virginia Watson of Midwest, Okla.; five brothers, Ruffin Petty Jr. of Decatur, Il, Rogaster Howard of St. Louis, Samuel Petty of Millington, Tenn., Joe Lee Petty of Los Angeles, and James Danner of Senatobia; 24 grandchildren and 17 great–grandchildren.

Jonathan Keith WatersOXFORD – Jonathan “JonJon” Keith Waters, 27, died Friday, October 9, 2015 in an auto accident in Memphis
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Homes, with Rev. Eddie Goliday officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Abbeville. Hodges Funeral Home of Oxford has charge.
He was a book.
Survivors include: his mother, Margaret Waters of Oxford; step-mother, Kaleista Gipson of Abbeville; two brothers, Montel Pegues and Montrel Pegues, both of Batesville; six sisters, LaToya Dukes of Oxford, Mariah Pegues and Angela Pegues, both of Batesville, Marie Gipson of Memphis, DeAndra Wilson of Detroit and Marilyn Edwards and Itta Bena.
