MDOT to host forum on Highway 6 plans

A public meeting concerning Highway 6/US 278 between Batesville and Clarksdale is scheduled by MDOT at Batesville Civic Center for Thursday, August 13 from 4-6 p.m.

The open forum public meeting will be used to discuss proposed improvements for that highway and citizens are invited to come and go at anytime during the aforementioned hours of the meeting to view the department’s alternatives and speak to MDOT representatives concerning the design, right-of-way and environmental issues.

Preliminary action has begun to replace existing bridges between Batesville and Marks including the Tallahatchie River. Temporary bridges were mentioned in initial plans.
