North Delta earns accreditation

North Delta School has earned accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED.  The announcement was made this week by Dr. Keith Shaffer, Mississippi director for AdvancEd, and the school’s principal, John Howell Jr.

SACS CASI provides nationally-recognized accreditation earned by  schools who have met the organization’s  high standards.  North Delta was evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school.

“Accreditation demonstrates to our students, parents and community that we are focused on raising student achievement, providing a safe, enriching, and Christ-centered learning environment, and maintaining an efficient and effective operation staffed by highly qualified educators,” Howell said.

SACS CASI accreditation is recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school but also assures parents that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice.

“SACS CASI accreditation through AdvancED is an add-on accreditation that not everyone strives to achieve.  This level of accreditation is a mark of excellence that crosses state and regional boundaries that include both public and independent schools,” stated Shaffer.  “Howell and his staff are to be commended for having the vision for regional accreditation.”

Dr. Mark Elgart, President/CEO of AdvancED, the parent organization of SACS CASI, stated, “SACS CASI Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners.  North Delta School is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.”
