Sardis police on Friday arrested a man believed responsible for an early June burglary of a commercial building.
Officers charged Marco Antwan Gordon, 33, of Sardis for the incident that included the forced entry of a storage building behind the office of the North Panola School District Superintendant, Sardis Police Chief Chris Martin said.
Martin said that Sardis officer James Bonds was able to develop information that pointed to Gordon as their suspect.
“We’ve been looking for him; he finally slipped up,” Martin said. Como police stopped Gordon for a traffic violation and an officer recognized the suspect and notified a Sardis officer.
Gordon is in the Panola county jail awaiting a hearing in Sardis Municipal Court.
