House serving internship at The Panolian this summer

Journalism student, De’Issac House of Courtland is working this summer as an intern at The Panolian.

 A recent student of Northwest Community College, House this year was among the NWCC Ranger Rocket staff members honored with awards in the Mississippi Press Association Better Newspaper Contest Student Division. He placed third in statewide competition among college student writers in the general interest column category.

A 2011 graduate of South Panola High School, he has worked part-time as a sports writer and photographer for The Panolian since October.

“We are delighted to have De’Issac with us full time this summer,” said Panolian managing editor Rupert Howell. “It’s our hope to give him abundant opportunities to develop a broad range of skills that will benefit him in his chosen field. ”

The Panolian was awarded partial funding for the internship through the Mississippi Press Association Education Foundation.

House is the son of Laketta Pegues and Issac House III.
